Sport and Exercise background
In the 4th grade, my parents signed me up for the basketball and volleyball teams, and the soccer team in 7th grade, all of which I continued to play in high school as a three-sport athlete for four years. Although I was, and still am, a southpaw standing at 5'4", I was fortunate to play many different positions on these teams. In volleyball I have played as an outside, middle, and right side hitter, and then played as the Libero (Defense Specialist) my senior year. In basketball, I was interchangeably a shooting guard and point guard. And in soccer, I sometimes played as a forward, but primarily a left midfielder in which I was award Central Suburban League (CSL) North Division All-Conference.
In the 8th grade I participated in Filipino cultural dancing which I continued to do throughout college where I served as the role of Dance Coordinator for Asian Cultural Exchange (ACE), an organization through DePaul University for two years. Within the 8 years of dancing, I have performed for big events and shows as well as competed in dance competitions with my groups. I also have minimal experience in Hula and modern/hip-hop dance as well.
Although I stopped playing on competitively sports teams after high school and stopped dancing after college, I continue to stay active and exercise frequently. Every summer I participate in a recreational Filipino volleyball league with friends. I also play on a women's football team in the fall through DePaul University. In the recent years I have taken a great interest in living a healthy lifestyle where I sustain a well-balanced diet and work out.
